Thanksgiving In Marriage

Thanksgiving is almost here and I love this holiday! So today we are going to talk about being thankful in our marriage.

Do you ever find it hard to be thankful for everything your husband does? He's an hour late from work, we get mad. He plays video games all night, we get upset. He forgets to put his shoes away, we want to throw them! It is hard to be thankful in marriage when sometimes it feels like he is out to upset us.

While thanksgiving may be hard at times, that is when we should push through and be grateful.

He's an hour late from work:
praise God he has a job and the physical ability to work!

He played video games all night:
praise God he was home with his family instead of out running the streets!

He forgot to put his shoes up...again:
praise God he has physical health and the finances to buy those shoes!

He tickles or bothers you every time a commercial comes on tv (this is what my husband does when I am reading, *smiles*):
praise God he loves to see you smile!

He's at his mom's helping her with something...again:
praise God he is being a man who honors his mother and in turn teaching his children to honor theirs!

Something God is teaching me this past year is thanksgiving in all things. No matter how bad things seem, there is always something to praise God for.

Today, take a few moments to stop and think of something your husband does that normally would irritate you. Then praise God for it. And hey, tell your hubby thank you too! Comment below and tell us what you he does that you are thankful for.

  1. Oh, yes. There is ALWAYS something to praise God for. I'm thankful for my husband's heart to serve our country even though it will take him away from home for far too long.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
