A little yeast

"Be on your gaurd, so that your minds are not dulled" Luke 21:34

"A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough." Gal 5:9

Just a little...it doesn't take much to bring us down. To dull our senses until we tell ourselves "oh this is ok..it won't hurt this one time.."

Living a life of integrity is hard enough on its own but when you let a little yeast in on your life then it's nearly impossible.

A tv commercial just came on the tv, Victoria's Secret ~ a little yeast
You picked up that romance book at the mall yesterday, and start thinking..man I wish my husband was this hunky~ a little yeast
You walk in the Church, tell a little white lie "yup I'm fine" ~ a little yeast

The Resolution for Women calls this rat poison. Something seeminly fine, wrapped in shiny bright honesty but on the inside, underneath the pretty cover it's laced with death. You take it home, chew on it a little and slowly but surely your faith dulls, your mind wanders and you start to die inside a little at a time.

"among you there must not even be a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people." Eph  5:3

A hint, just a little...that's all it takes to bring your whole life crashing down around you. For your integrity to be compromised, for trust to be shattered. For faith to be questioned. A hint is all Satan needs to do horrible things in your life.

So now you ask yourself, "am I serious about wanting to lead a life of integrity?" Are you serious about giving your all to God, of getting rid of those seemingly small things that you think are no big deal? If your answer is yes, find help. Find an accountability partner. I have 2 ladies that are my closest friends, and then I have my accountability group that helps me stay in the word every day. Our Morning Reflections Groups can do that for you but you also need to have one or two close friends who are on this journey with you, who will be honest and question that book you're about to read, or that movie you're about to watch.."everything is permissable, but not everything is beneficial." 1 Cor 10:23

So, are you serious? Do you truly want to walk in integrity? To give truly your all to Christ? It's a scary resolution, it means you lay down everything and let the light of Truth shine on even the darkest corners...so are you ready?
