Have you 'stopped to smell the roses' lately?

How often do you pause to appreciate the things you have in life?  I mean, how often do you actually 'stop' and 'think' about the many blessings in your life?  How often do you stop and 'smell the roses?'

God is so good and so gracious.  If we would just stop for a moment and honestly give thought to the many, many things in our life we would see how blessed we are.

So many of us take for granted the many blessings God has given us.  If you sleep in a warm, comfortable bed…you are blessed.  If you have clothes on your back…you are blessed.  If you have food to eat…you are blessed.  If your car started this morning…you are blessed.  If you have a job…you are blessed.  Think for a minute…how many people don't have a warm bed to sleep in?  How many people only have the clothes on their back instead of a closet full?  How many people go to bed every night without a full stomach?  How many people don't even have a car OR a job?  God has truly blessed us…each with different blessings, perhaps, but blessed us nonetheless.

Part of the purpose of our Thankful Thursday posts are to help you…and us…to be thankful for our many blessings.  If we would just take some time each day to appreciate what God has given us…our days would be so much better!

So, with all that said, today I am thankful for...the opportunity to share God with other women; for the bed I sleep in every night; for my husband who loves me more than I deserve; for my children and grandchildren; for the food in my fridge and the roof over my head.  Lord, help me to never take for granted the many blessings you give me each day!

What are some things that you are thankful for today?

With a grateful heart,

  1. Beautiful post. I am learning to be intentional with my thanksgiving. I am not perfect at this but still trying.

  2. I just told all this to my daughter about an hr ago. Just sent her this link. Thank u.
