Tasty Tuesday - Christmas Candy

Christmas is coming up quicker than I am ready for, whew!  Today I want to share a quick and easy candy recipe with you.  It is Candy Cane Bark.  My kids love helping with this treat!

24 ounces (2bags) white chocolate chips

24 ounces (2bags) chocolate chips
1 box candy canes

Get a cookie sheet and line with parchment paper.  Put chocolate chips into microwave safe bowl and heat for 60 seconds.  Stir, heat another 60 seconds.  I normally have to stir and heat a third 60 seconds.  Stir to smooth then pour onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  Stick in refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden.

During this time, open candy canes and place into a baggie and zip.  Here is the kids' favorite part so let them do it! Give them a hammer and have them smash the candy canes into bits.  Fun, fun!

Once the chocolate layer has hardened, repeat with the white chocolate chips.  Put white chocolate chips into microwave safe bowl and heat for 60 seconds.  Stir, heat another 60 seconds.  I normally have to stir and heat a third 60 seconds.  Stir to smooth then add 2/3 of the candy cane bits into mix.  Pour on top of the chocolate layer then sprinkle remaining candy cane bits on top and place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden.

Remove from refrigerator and break into pieces.

Sweet Blessings~
