I am always very careful to hold the doors when they get in, especially if cars are parked near ours. There was a giagantic white SUV parked next to us. Once we got in and were ready to go, I noticed the lady in the SUV motioning to me to roll down my window.

I assumed it was one of the moms from church or something. She said I hit her car with my door. I knew I hadn't. She insisted I had and then explained she was driving a government vehicle and so I had actually hit MY car because my tax money would have to fix the car. There were no marks on her car on my side. I thought she must have just heard a sound and assumed I'd dinged it.

Anyway, this went on for a few minutes, then she started to pull away. She did not call the police or check for damage like I would have expected. As she pulled away, I waved to her and said, "God bless you." I meant it, though I probably sounded like I thought she was crazy, which may be why she screamed at me, "You too, B*TCH!"

Ugh. I am a nice person and that hit me hard. Worse, my kids asked me why that woman was yelling at me. We drove away too, in the other direction, and went to an ice cream place to sit. My heart was pounding. We prayed for her. We went home and I prayed for her by myself too. It was hard. I was really unnerved, so I prayed a gotcha prayer. You know, God, let her know when she is blessed it's because of that LADY IN THE PARKING LOT WHO IS TOTALLY GREAT...uh, not a good way to pray, shows my heart... I was angry. Sigh. Anyway, prayed until my heart softened because the Lord told me to forgive. I did. Eventually.

That guy needs prayer. You need to forgive because it's a weight you are not meant to carry.

It wasn't your fault.

One time...when I was a teenager I flipped off a man in a pick-up truck because his dog was unsafely in the back. He didn't deserve it either.

People are...well, what are we? In need. All of us.

Sandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08702620069148109246noreply@blogger.com
